Discover the hidden Minsmere on these specially tailored 4x4 tours of Minsmere’s varied habitats. Each tour allows you to explore Minsmere from the comfort and safety of a 4X4 vehicle, and discover how we keep the reserve in tip-top condition. Our experienced guides will vary the tour to suit your requirements, allowing you to meet Minsmere’s livestock, enjoy excellent photo opportunities, or simply explore some of the lesser known parts of the reserve.
Tours usually last for three hours, and can cater for up to four people. Children are welcome, but please supply an appropriate child seat or booster cushion for children under 12 years.
£100 (per vehicle (includes reserve entry for up to four people), RSPB members £60.

Meet: 10.30 Thurs 11th March at Snape Maltings overflow car park, OS Map Ref: 575392
Directions: From the A12 follow the brown signs to Snape Maltings.
A walk from Snape Maltings through reed beds to Iken Cliff, good for spotting birds.
Free parking, public transport available, toilets and refreshments available.
Grade: 2 2.5 miles/ 1 ¼ hours

Forest Heath Health Walks

Meet: 11.00am Thur 11th Mar at the Ashley Crown public house.
A walk round Ashley and Cheveley, a combination of firm paths, grassy surfaces and a long moderate gradient near the end. Can be slippery and muddy in places. Parking in the Ashley Crown car park. Refreshments & toilets available.

Babergh District Council Health Walks

Babergh District Council organise a walk each week in their area details below.
All the walks will meet outside the meeting places unless it is raining then it will be in the entrance of the meeting point (not right inside please to ensure the library and the centre are not inconvenienced).
All walks are grade 1-2 & will last 30-40mins mainly on the flat apart from fairly steep incline on the Hadleigh Riverside walk . The Sudbury Town Trail is not suitable for dogs.
Refreshments will be available at the Kingfisher Leisure Centre after the Sudbury walk and at the Orangerie after the Hadleigh walks.

Harkshead to Holbrook - Please note this is a one way walk accessible by bus.
Meet: 10.55am Fri 12th Mar at stand J Ipswich Cattle Market to take the bus 98 to Harkshead.
A walk along the River Stour estuary and along the bank of the stream to Holbrook. Can be muddy after heavy rain.
Refreshments and toilets available at the Tearoom or The Compassess pub. Bus back to Ipswich at 1.30pm and 2.30pm.
Grade: 2.  65 mins.  Led by Daphne Turner and Celia Rutt
