My Suffolk, Your Suffolk - Sven Cummings

Sven’s Story

My mum had set up a plan to meet up with her friends one Saturday. I quite liked the idea but because this was before she had broken her ankle, she just had to say that we had to bike there, I was only eight and I had to bike all the way there, to Hoxne and back to Saxmundham where we live.

So the day came and we had to bike to Hoxne. I was really not looking forward to it but I had to do it. Then we set off on our racing bikes and biked there but on the way there we went in to a path that had conkers on it, my mum said “be careful to not puncture your tyre”.

So when I was dodging the conkers on the floor because it’s November it had to rain with conkers when the wind blew and I got a big old bonk on the head!

We eventually got there. At the pub I had a good old fish and chips with lemon squeezed on it (yum), yum, that really filled me up for the rest of the day, so I could bike home again.

And guess how many miles it took me to get from Saxmundham to Hoxne, guess………..40 miles!!!!!!”
