A 2½ mile circular walk starting from Boxford playing field. The Boxford Highlights walk takes you on an exploration of the village with its splendid timber framed houses, through a section of the Box valley, and to Boxford’s church with its fascinating links to John Winthrop, a leading Puritan who founded the city of Boston in USA.
The leaflet features 3 walks of varying distances. Boxford grew prosperous on the proceeds of the medieval wool trade, and the wealthy merchants lavished money on St Mary’s Church and other attractive timber-lined buildings that still line the village centre today.
