Coddenham Walks – Lime Kilns

A 3½ mile walk from Coddenham Centre.  The leaflet features 2 stunning walks covering woodland, farm tracks, fields and footpaths, each of 3.5 miles which can be combined to make a longer route.

Coddenham was once one of the largest Roman settlements in East Anglia when it was called Combretovium, home to two Roman forts, with the Roman road between Colchester and Caistor Saint Edmund in Norfolk running through the village.  Don’t miss St Gregory’s church with its 14th century octagonal font and rare 16th century rood beam roof.
