Easy Going Trails – Dunwich Heath

a winding track with yellow and purple heather on one side, looking out towards the sea on Dunwich Heath

A 1.5 mile circular route on natural firm surface paths, starting from the car park.  Dunwich Heath is one of the most dramatic settings in all of Suffolk, where heathland reaches the coast with stunning views towards historic Southwold to the north and famous RSPB Minsmere to the south.  National Trust Dunwich Heath offers a variety of trails to explore, each offering a different experience of the heathlands and woodlands.  Look out for information panels showing the waymarked trails, or follow our suggested route.  For wheelchair users, a powered mobility vehicle is available (this must be booked in advance).  Staff are happy to advise the best routes for your needs.
