PLEASE NOTE : There is currently a footpath closure on this route along the Gipping Valley River Path between Lower Street Sproughton and Ship Lane, Bramford (December 2025).

A 4 mile circular walk starting from Bramford Meadows Picnic Site.  This walk takes you upstream along the Gipping Valley River Path (GVPR), passing water meadows and through agricultural land into the village of Sproughton, returning to Bramford via the river path.

The medieval village of Sproughton possesses several interesting buildings, including a large tithe barn from the late 16th of early 17th Century, and an old village lock-up.  Local wrongdoers would be put in here overnight before being released or sent for trial at Ipswich.
